New Evidence Emerges as Oklahoma Veteran's Arraignment Date Approaches in Self-Defense Shooting
Note: This is the third installment investigating the charges against Oklahoma veteran Edwin Turlington, who, in 2014 was arrested for defending himself against the attacks of a known violent criminal.
Edwin Turlington's scheduled arraignment date is Monday, January 7, 2019 and as this date draws closer, Turlington has been giving frequent updates on his Facebook page. Approximately one hour ago Mr. Turlington published the following post, which includes additional information about Darrell Philpott (the man Turlington shot in self-defense in 2014) , his arrest record as well as dashcam video of one of his arrests. Together, the information shows a pattern in Philpott's behavior.
"My brother Lance is giving a briefing to the public at Mazzio's in Grove after my arraignment at the Delaware County Courthouse in Jay at 10:00 Monday morning, January 7th.
My brother is a full Colonel in the active US Army JAG Corps. For civilians reading this, that means he briefs Generals as his day to day job. He has a legal team of fifty lawyers and paralegals that work for him. There are three levels of supervisors between him and the prosecutors that work for him.
On the other hand, I am an incomparably better cop than the dirty cop Melvin Gayle Wells, the man that set me up to protect his snitch I shot in self defense. I proved Well's withheld exculpatory evidence from the District Attorney and that the prosecution's star witness committed perjury, as well as uncovering their informant's life of crime over the border in Arkansas and Missouri with drug felonies spanning 26 years, as well as obtaining the below police video that shows the prosecution's star witness threatening to kill his arresting officer as soon as his handcuffs were off.
PM me if you want to know about my arraignment or the briefing."
On Thursday January 3, 2019 Turlington posted the following via his Facebook page which offers more evidence of Philpott's violent tendencies:
"I recently posted a police video of Philpott telling an Arkansas deputy SIX MONTHS AGO that he was going to kill him when he got his handcuffs off. I also recently posted a 2016 police video of Philpott attempting to flee another Arkansas deputy, and when that failed, physically fight the Deputy. That 2016 arrest resulted in Philpott's most recent drug felony. as well as a DWI conviction and a schedule VI drug conviction. It also resulted in Philpott's being convicted for the 2009 Missouri DWI that was active when he assaulted me. One of the TWO Missouri bench warrants Philpott had for his arrest that Delaware County Deputy Melvin Gayle Wells ignored.
In the below video you will hear Philpott's ex-wife testimony on how he "went into a rage" when her friend wouldn't let Philpott hold her baby when he was drunk, and slapped her in the face, and shoved his little daughter across the room, kicked their pet dog and began destroying her home while threatening to burn it down and GRABBING A GUN from the gun cabinet.
If Philpott doesn't kill in anger, he will kill from his constant driving drunk and stoned. Out of his mind. And when he does, remember your Delaware County "public servants" who literally broke Oklahoma laws enabling Philpott to continue his FOUR DECADE violent streak. Below are 5 DWIs that we know of."
I will continue to follow this case closely and provide updates as they become available.
The Atlanta Journal- Constitution newspaper is reporting:
"Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the removal of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it "remains a blight on our state and should be removed."
Abrams campaign website states:
"Stacey knows our beginnings do not have to dictate who we will become. She has a boundless belief in Georgians’ capacity to prosper; and she has the courage, commitment to service, and experience to make this vision a reality"
It's a feel-good all inclusive moderate message designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of Georgia voters but it is not a difficult endeavor determining what vision she has in mind.
A recently published news story reveals the reality of Abrams' vision and confirms that she has the experience working in the field.
The New York Times is reporting:
"At a protest on the steps of the Georgia Capitol …
On November 21, 2018 the Washington Post published an article written by Retired U.S. General Stanley McChrystal entitled 'Good Riddance: Americans need to set aside icons like Robert E. Lee to live up to our potential'.
The article contains a picture of a (digitally) vandalized portrait of General Robert E. Lee, which one can only assume, given the history of the Washington Post, is not only an approval of past attacks on Confederate monuments but also a wink and a nod to future attacks as well.
In the article McChrystal admits that a portrait of General Robert E. Lee hung on his wall, wherever he went , for over 34 years and that the portrait was given to him as a gift from his wife, who coincidentally is the one who told him to take it down.
The reason? McChrystal states:
"In the summer of 2017, my wife, Annie, urged me to take down the picture. Disgusted by the images of hate and white supremacy that had descended on Charlottesville in the form of angry, torch-bearin…
On the evening of April 14, 2014 Edwin Turlington, a U.S. Army Veteran and Private Investigator who lives in Delaware County, Oklahoma noticed two men starting a fire on adjacent property owned by his brother. Ed tells me, "When I purchased the property it was land locked so my brother purchased the property next to it so I would not have to get an easement."
The incident has placed Mr. Turlington in a four year legal battle and facing a 10 year sentence if convicted.
Mr. Turlington states he:
"Found three strangers, including convicted drug dealer Darrell Philpott cooking Meth on land his brother recently contracted for and already acquired the right to possess. Relying on his law enforcement training and experience, Ed realized the men had taken the license plates off their truck, which is a significant indicator they were going out into the community with bad intentions. Ed executed a citizen's arrest in accordance with Oklahoma statutes. Rather than submit to t…
