New Evidence Lends Credibility to Oklahoma Veteran's Version of 2014 Shooting

Oklahoma Veteran Edwin Turlington charged in 2014 for shooting in self defense
On August 23, 2018 I published an article about an Oklahoma Army Veteran who has been fighting a 4 year legal battle for confronting trespassers who he suspected were making methamphetamine. The article entitled "Oklahoma Veteran Arrested for Defending Himself Against Alleged Meth-Maker" contained details about the confrontation between Oklahoma veteran Edwin Turlington, Darrell Philpott, Steven Barrett and an unidentified third man.

Turlington claims that Philpott became violent and charged him with a whiskey bottle after he tried to execute a citizens arrest on Philpott and it was at this time Turlington fired a single .380 caliber round into the front of Philpott's leg and then called 9-11.

Astonishingly Oklahoma Sheriff Harlan Moore believes that Turlington shot Philpott in the back of the leg while he was fleeing (despite photographic evidence and the ER nurse who treated Philpott who, in her notes stated the round entered the front of Philpott's leg and exited the back of his leg.

Sheriff Moore also stated that Philpott, Barrett and the unidentified man were merely cutting wood on what they thought was foreclosed property.

New evidence has emerged which validates Edwin Turlington's story.  Philpott was arrested on October 04, 2016 in Benton County, Arkansas on a Driving While Intoxicated charge. October 12, 2016 Benton County, Arkansas court documents about the arrest state:
A July 21, 2018 incident report from Arkansas again finds Philpott intoxicated on Hwy 72. In the report deputy Cedric Lampkin states that Philpott became combative and threatened to kill the deputy both at the scene and again at the jail.
Both the 2016 and the 2018 arrest records of Philpott show that he is a user of methamphetamine and becomes violent and threatening when confronted.

Both the 2016 and 2018 arrest reports of Philpott confirm Edwin Turlington's description of Philpott's behavior on April 14, 2014.

The big question is; Why is Oklahoma Sheriff Harlan Moore protecting Darrell Philpott?

WREG News Channel 3 (Memphis , Tennessee) is reporting : Photo credit: WREG News 3 "Laurin Stennis’ flag design has gained so much popularity that even those who order the flag want her autograph. She matched the colors exactly to the United States flag. “I think those are wonderful colors and the symbolism is meaningful, but also this is a strong standalone but when you pair it with the United States flag they make a handsome couple,” said Stennis. Nineteen stars circle around a large star, which represents Mississippi as the 20th state to join the Union in 1817. The large star is called Bonnie Blue. Stennis had some help producing the flags with Complete Flag Source. To date, well over 2,000 Stennis flags have been sold." According to the report Stennis' asks: "Is our logo doing it’s job? I would argue absolutely not because every time it comes up we fight about and we get tense.” Okay, where to start? WREG reports that the flag is

On the evening of April 14, 2014 Edwin Turlington, a U.S. Army Veteran and Private Investigator who lives in Delaware County, Oklahoma noticed two men starting a fire on adjacent property owned by his brother. The incident has placed Mr. Turlington in a four year legal battle and facing a 10 year sentence if convicted. Mr. Turlington states he: "Found three strangers, including convicted drug dealer Darrell Philpott cooking Meth on land his brother recently contracted for and already acquired the right to possess.
