My Second Interview with Dixie Heritage Hour: History of the Baldknobbers of the Ozarks

In my second interview with the Dixie Heritage Hour, Dr. Ed DeVries and I discuss the history of the Ozark Baldknobbers. Commonly described as a vigilante group that simply got out of hand, most people don't know that the original "Baldknobbers" were actually Unionists who bought seized land and cattle that were taken from Southern sympathizers during the war.

The term "Baldknobbers" stemmed from the fact that the group met on treeless hill or mountain tops known as "bald knobs".

The War That Wasn't: The Real Agenda Against All Things Confederate

The illustration on the left is an artist's concept of a Union soldier. I have to admit, I'm quite perplexed by it. Why? I shall tell you why. First he has a rifle. For as long as I can remember both the Republican and Democratic parties have had their fair share of Lincoln defenders. The Republican Party was founded with the election of Abraham Lincoln thus Lincoln has been the party's trademark so to speak. The problem with this is that the Republican Party, presents itself as the party of smaller government, states rights and defenders of the Constitution and freedom.
